Good news! The Illinois Heartland Library System will resume loans as of July 1st. Delivery of items will begin July 6th, so starting July 6st, the Loda Township Library will be open for patrons to borrow materials as well as use computers, fax, copy, or print. Patrons are encouraged to “Grab and Go” materials any time from 9-2 Monday through Thursday and 9-1 on Saturdays. Only three people will be allowed into the library at one time. Computer use is by appointment only with a 20-minute limit. For reservations, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, or call the library at 217-386-2783 during library hours. Face masks are required and no children under 16 years of age are allowed until further notice. No restroom is available. You can preorder books though the SHARE website (http://lodp.illshareit.com) or by emailing the director, at email@example.com. You will receive a call when your items are ready for pickup. The mission of the Loda Public Library is to provide educational, informational, cultural, and recreational resources and services to all ages of people in the Loda Public Library. The library will provide access to the universe of information, and especially that information which is of immediate relevance and interest to the community it serves. The library seeks to accomplish its mission through prudent management and development of its resources and by providing access to materials and services to meet the present and future needs of the community it serves. In this effort, the Loda Public Library cooperates with other libraries and with other educational and governmental institutions. Special emphasis is placed on current popular materials. The library serves as a learning center and educational center for all residents of the community.

Loda Township Library was first established in 1897 as A. Herr Smith & E.E. Smith Public Library. Although the Library was designed to resemble a Carnegie Library, it is not a Carnegie. Our small library is proud to offer computer access, wifi, e-books, inter-library loan, DVD's, and free bonded notary public.
